Halloween events in Greater Victoria 2024

It should come as no surprise that Victoria knows how to have an exciting Halloween season—rumour has it our local Garry oak trees were the inspiration for the creepy forest in Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, so nature has already set the scene for a spook-tacular October. 

This year, Halloween falls on Thur. and the entire day is jam-packed with events—trick-or-treat parties, late-night dancing, costume parties, and even a laid-back night of Halloween trivia are all taking place, guaranteeing fun for children and adults alike. We’ve separated family events and adults-only events for Thur. to help you find your ideal All Hallows' Eve activity. If you’re busy on Halloween day, events are happening Wed. through the weekend—including Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations infused with Mexican culture.

Wednesday

Paint Night | Wednesday | 6:30pm

Trick-or-Treat at Uptown | Thursday | 3-5pm

Take your kids to Uptown Boulevard for a fun afternoon of trick -or-treating and a princess meet and greet. [Free]

Halloween Spooktacular at Mayfair | Thursday | 3-5pm

Head to the mall for an afternoon packed with family fun, including face painting, a magician, and a monster dance party. [Free]

Trick-or-Treat at Westshore Town Centre | Thursday | 3:30-5pm

Bring the family for a fa-boo-lous time: trick-or-treat at participating retailers and enjoy a complimentary goblet of Witches Brew, served by the Bubble Bus. [Free]

Treat Street Halloween Spooktacular | Thursday | 4:30-6pm

Downtown Sidney will be closed to traffic as the town invites all the little ghosts, goblins, and princesses to enjoy a trick-or-treating event. [Free]

Treat Street in Langford | Thursday | 5-8pm

Bring your costumed little ones to Langford Station for a family trick-or-treat experience. Free hot dogs, hot chocolate, treats, live music, photo opportunities, games, and more. [Free]

Esquimalt Halloween Firehall Spooktacular | Thursday | 5-9pm

Visit the Esquimalt Firehall located behind the Archie Browning Sports Centre, for their annual family-friendly event, featuring an outdoor movie, bouncy castle, and trick-or-treating with the firefighters. [Free]

Visit the MAC makeup store in Mayfair Shopping Centre for Halloween makeup demos and watch the pros create stunning eye or mouth makeup, perfect for your costume party or night out. [Free]

Get spooky at this PG-13 haunted house experience at Galey Farms, with over 6K square feet of terrifying thrills around every corner. [$22]

Colwood Pumpkin Patch | Saturday | 12-2pm

Enjoy a fun way to dispose of your jack-o’-lanterns. You can smash it multiple ways: roll your pumpkin down the hill at city hall, aiming for the snowblower to cut it to smithereens; man the fire hose and blast your pumpkin into the bin; or watch your pumpkin get crushed by heavy-duty equipment.
