Markets return in full swing, live music fills parks, and neighbourhoods come alive with block parties. Here’s your guide to what’s happening this June across the region.

Lavender Festival at Bilston Creek Farm | Starts on June 1 | Sundays 1–6pm; Mondays & Tuesdays 10am–8pm

Clebrate summer surrounded by blooming lavender fields at Bilston Creek Farm in Metchosin. This family-friendly festival features a rotating market of local makers, hands-on workshops (like lavender wreath and wand making), live music on select Sundays, and product demonstrations. Triple Threat Performing Arts Society presents the timeless classic The Sound of Music at the Charlie White Theatre in Sidney. Oak Bay Tea Party | June 6–8 | Various times

Celebrate the 63rd annual Oak Bay Tea Party at Willows Beach—a beloved community tradition featuring a weekend of family-friendly fun. Enjoy thrilling amusement rides, a lively parade, live music, a floating teacup race, and a variety of food vendors. The event kicks off with a parade on Saturday at 10:30am, winding from Windsor Park to Willows Park. Don't miss the pancake breakfasts hosted by the Esquimalt Lions Club on Saturday and Sunday mornings. [Free entrance; ride wristbands $40/day]

Capital City Chaos | June 6–8

Three jam-packed days of roller derby at Archie Browning Sports Centre in Esquimalt, featuring 10 teams from across North America and hosted by the local Eves of Destruction.

FernFest returns to Fernwood Square for its 28th year, transforming the neighbourhood into a vibrant celebration of arts, music, and community. This free, all-ages festival features live performances across multiple stages, an artisan market with over 80 vendors, a kid zone, workshops, food trucks, and more. Children’s Garden Gnome Hunt at The Butchart Gardens | June 13–15

Embark on a whimsical adventure at The Butchart Gardens during the Children's Garden Gnome Hunt. Young explorers aged 17 and under are invited to search for ten mischievous gnomes hiding throughout the gardens. Participants can collect a map at the Admission Gate or Visitor Information Centre to mark the gnomes' locations. Once all gnomes are found, return the completed map to receive a special gift. TD Victoria International JazzFest 2025 | June 20–29 | Various times

Celebrate 10 days of world-class jazz, funk, soul, and global music at venues across Victoria. This year’s lineup features headliners like Madeleine Peyroux, Alex Cuba, Richard Bona Asanté Trio, Eliane Elias, and ARTEMIS, along with over 45 bands and 180 musicians from around the world. Enjoy ticketed concerts, free outdoor shows at Beacon Hill Park and Bullen Park, and intimate club performances at Hermann’s Jazz Club, Wicket Hall, and The Coda. Opera Quest: JÉHANNE – World Premiere | June 27 | 7:30pm

Experience the world premiere of JÉHANNE, a bold new operatic work by Artistic Director Colin Doroschuk, presented by Opera Quest at the Victoria Conservatory of Music.
