Halloween Events in Victoria 2025

Gather all your ghouls and goblins—the spookiest day of the year is happening this week. 

This year, Halloween serendipitously falls on a Friday—it may not be as spooky as Friday the 13th, but if you swap the numbers, it’s pretty close. There’s also plenty happening before and after, allowing you to keep the haunted vibes going all week.

There are plenty of family-friendly events and adults-only parties for you to choose from, including bonfires, haunted houses, trick-or-treat extravaganzas, and late-night dancing. You can even attend a Halloween BBQ—we’re one of few cities in the country that can pull that off in late October.

If you’re looking to celebrate the spiritual aspects of the season—many cultures believe the veil thins between our world and the spiritual realm at this time of year—we’ve listed some Día de Los Muertos events as well.

Pumpkin QR code hunt at Mayfair | Wednesday-Friday | All Day

Explore Mayfair Shopping Centre while looking for hidden pumpkins, each with its own QR code. The more you find, the better your chances of winning various prizes. [Free]

Quivering Village | Thursday | 6-8pm

Head to the Quadra Community Centre for a spooky haunted house (for ages 10+) and a witch’s lair, suited for all ages. Costumes are encouraged. [Free]

Devil’s Nite: Hotter Than Hell | Thursday | 9pm

Celebrate a day early at this party that will transform Capital Ballroom into a red-lit cavern. Two of Victoria’s top DJs are set to perform. [$20]

Bug Zoo Halloween Market | Friday | 12-6pm

Check out the market for fun Halloween wares or join a spooky bug talk, where stories of creepy crawlies get freakier as the night goes on. [Market is free; Bug Zoo regular admission fee]

Halloween on the Boolevard | Friday | 3-5pm

Head to Uptown for this fall fair, with carnival games, food, live music, face painting, and a meet-and-greet with famous princess characters. [Free]

Costume Contest at Mayfair | Friday | 3pm

Bring out your best costumes for a chance to win up to $500 in prizes at Mayfair Shopping Centre. [Free]

Halloween Skate | Friday | 3pm

Skate with your community while showing off your costume at the Archie Browning Centre in Esquimalt. [Free for kids in costumes]

Halloween BBQ | Friday | 5-9pm

Throw on a costume and grab a free hotdog at this community event in Banfield Park. It’s the perfect way to end an evening of trick-or-treating. [Free]

Halloween Spooktacular | Friday | 5:30-8:30pm

Stop by Bullen Park for some Halloween fun while you’re out trick-or-treating. Enjoy games, contests, a BBQ, and a screening of Hotel Transylvania. [Free]

Treat Street Langford | Friday | 5:30pm

The Luxton Fair grounds will transform into a fun Halloween fest, with photobooths, balloon art, games, and more. [Free]

Treat Street Sidney | Friday | 4:30-6pm

Downtown Sidney will close to traffic, allowing little ghosts, goblins, and princesses to enjoy a family trick-or-treat event. [Free]

Crypt Halloween x Rifflandia | Friday & Saturday | 10pm

The Rifflandia Showroom will turn into a spooktacular dance party, with two nights of killer music. Friday’s headliner is NITEPUNK and Saturday’s is MACHINEDRUM. [Tickets at door]

Big Head Halloween | Friday | 8pm

The club will open early for this night of ghoulish dancing at The Downbeat. Costumes encouraged. [$20]

Halloween at The Coda | Friday | 6pm

Dress up and show off in support of Indigenous organizer and single mother, Nikky E—all funds will support her and her family as they navigate a difficult time. Dance the night away to rock and R&B music. [$15]

Halloween Dance | Friday | 7pm

Dance to Honky-Tonk and swing music at this mysterious masquerade and costume party at Eagle Hall. [$40]

Petrified Pub Crawl | Wednesday-Friday | 7-10pm

A ghost tour and bar crawl rolled into one—check out three haunted pubs in downtown Victoria and enjoy delicious food and drink along the way. [$45]

Sooke Halloween Night at Camp Bernard | Friday | 6:30pm

Join the Otter Point Fire Dept. for a safe community bonfire and fireworks. Warm up with hot chocolate, hot dogs, and candy for kids. [Free]

Oak Bay Avenue Trick-or-Treat | Friday | 2-5pm

This annual event will take over Oak Bay Village, with multiple merchants handing out treats to kids in costumes. [Free]

High Moon: A Halloween Western | Friday | 7pm

This immersive performance will place you in a spooky ghost town where hairy frights wait around every corner at Heritage Acres. [$35] 

Pumpkin Smash | Sunday | 12-3pm

Discard your pumpkins in a safe way and watch it drop 100 feet at this annual event at Tillicum Mall. [Free]

Día De Los Muertos events

Día De Los Muertos Gala | Saturday | 6pm

Join this authentic Mexican celebration at Victoria Odd Fellows, honouring people we have lost, with altars, music, dancing, and food (one ticket gets you a tamale, birria taco, and a non-alcoholic drink). Join early to learn how to create an altar and discover the history of this tradition. [$43]

Día De Los Muerto: Fernwood | Sunday | 3-6pm

Honour the lives and spirits of those who have passed on in this annual Mexican tradition. Music, food, and altars will fill the space at Fernwood Community Centre Gym as you connect with neighbours and share stories. [Free]

Día De Los Muertos Celebration | Sunday | 2pm

This vibrant celebration of life, love, and remembrance, hosted by the Fiesta Latin Association, will feature face painting, live music, and community altars for offerings at the Ukrainian Culture Centre. [Admission by donation]
