The days are getting shorter and chillier, but there are plenty of cozy Christmas concerts happening around the city to keep you warm. From traditional coral tunes to holiday pop tunes, there’s something for each of your family members to enjoy.

Get yourself into the holiday spirit with these festive music events.

Sweet Soul Choir Christmas Show | Nov. 29 | 7:30pm

Checo, a seasoned soul performer, will lead the choir through an evening of fun holiday tunes, with funds going toward the Mustard Seed. 

Rocky Mountain Christmas | Nov. 30 | 7:30pm

Celebrate John Denver’s Christmas hits at the Farquhar at UVic. 

A Jewish Sing-a-long Christmas | Nov. 30, 7:30pm | Dec. 1, 3pm

Sing along to some of the most beloved Christmas tunes—all written by Jewish composers—at the Congregation Emanu-El Synagogue. 

Victorian Christmas Carols by Gilbert & Sullivan | Nov. 30 | 2pm

Hear classics from the Victorian era at St. Mary’s Anglican Church.

Comfort and Joy | Dec. 1 | 3pm

The Victoria Chamber Choir will perform old and new holiday tunes at Broad View United Church.

In the Christmas Mood with Glen Miller Orchestra | Dec. 3 | 7pm

The legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra rolls out its timeless hits and put a twist on our favourite songs of the holiday season.

Cold Nights, Warm Hearts | Dec. 6 | 7pm | Dec 7 | 2pm

Head to the Holy Trinity Church in Sooke for an enchanting evening of choral pieces and cozy folk songs.

An Upside Christmas | Dec. 7 | 7pm

CHEK's Upside Guys, Michael Kaeshammer, The Victoria Rock Choir, and Stephen Fearing will perform at McPherson Playhouse. 

Christmas Pops with Canadian Brass | Dec. 7 | 7:30pm | Dec. 8 | 2:30pm

Canadian Brass is back in Victoria with holiday classics with a jazzy spin at Royal Theatre.

Victoria Symphony Holiday Brunch | Dec. 7 | 10am-1pm

Enjoy a meal and a show at this holiday special, back after last year’s successful show, at the Royal Theatre. 

Christmas with the Victoria Scottish Gaelic Choir | Dec. 8 | 2pm  

Head to Trinity Presbyterian Church for an afternoon of traditional Gaelic songs and modern favourites, followed by tea and refreshments.

Buddy’s Holly Jolly Christmas | Dec 9 | 7:30pm

Zachary Stevenson will host this holiday tribute to Buddy Holly, with the Lovettes from Chicago at the McPherson Playhouse.

Naden Band: Sounds of Season | Dec. 9-10 |  7:30pm

The Naden Band of the Royal Canadian Navy will perform Christmas music, raising money for the Salvation Army, at the Royal Theatre.

Messiah by Candlelight | Dec. 12-13 | 7:30pm

Hear Handel’s classic piece in an intimate setting, with performers lit by candlelight, at Christ Church Cathedral. The Dec. 15 show has sold out.

Yellow Point Christmas Spectacular | Dec. 14-15 | 2pm

Broadway classics, jazz hits, and favourite Christmas tunes, mixed with dance and storytelling will be on display at McPherson Playhouse for its 16th year.

Jon and Roy Holiday Special | Dec. 14 | 8pm

The beloved Victoria duo is back with its 15th anniversary holiday show at the Royal Theatre. This year’s lineup features popular folk performer M. Ward and singer-songwriter Anna Tivel.

Daniel Lapp’s Home for Christmas | Dec. 18-19 | 7:30pm

This holiday show returns to the Royal Theatre, with local musician Daniel Lapp leading a group of talented young fiddle players.

46th Annual Tuba Christmas | Dec. 14 | 1-3pm

The annual concert brings together more than 100 tuba and euphonium players to perform your favourite holiday carols in Market Square.

Greater Victoria Police Chorus Christmas Concert | Dec. 14 | 2:30-4:30pm

Christmas favourites, including sing-alongs, will be performed at North Douglas Church.

Candlelight Jazz Christmas Classics | Dec. 20 | 6:30 & 8:30pm

Head to St. Ann’s Academy for a cozy candlelight concert of Christmas tunes. 

Swiftsure Big Band Christmas Concert | Dec. 5 | 7pm

Catch the band, with singer Brenda Morie, at Hermann’s.

Music Jam Christmas Sing-along | Dec. 23 | 6-8pm

Join in on the fun at this Christmas sing-along at Esquimalt Rec Centre—instruments welcome.

The Night Before the Night Before | Dec. 23 | 7:30pm

Hear music from the Capriccio Vocal Ensemble at Christ Church Cathedral.

A Child’s Christmas in Wales | Dec. 24 | 2:30pm

Hear Dylan Thomas’s classic Christmas prose at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, read by Welshman and local Melville Jones.
